  All souls day...
for the folllowers of imaginary friends

Happy ALL souls day

  Samhain Greetings
On the evening that we await the return of lost friends Raincoaster suggested this

I'd add this

I also learnt today of the death of a dear friend of mine, Alan Bruno.
I first met Alan when running a computer shop in town. Alan ran a tailors shop that he and his wife Bet (who died last year) had set up in the late 1950's and even walking into the shop in the late 1990's it still felt like a proper gentleman's outfitters. Alan was a consummate gentleman. He was polite, unbelievably charming and had a heart of gold, albeit one that had been broken by the untimely death of his daughter through medical negligence. Though his heart was broke, his spirit was one of a fiery cynicism for any who hold a position of power simply for the power that it gave, whether they be Doctors, High Court Judges or Senior Military figures. Alan would metaphorically 'tug his forelock', take their money and show his contempt when they were out of earshot. That sounds harsh and to be fair, Alan never took anyone at face value. He could always find the good in people, no matter how wretched or offensive they behaved, and believe me some of his customers where rude beyond belief simply because they were lorded and landed, and he was 'their man' who sorted their suits. Alan was his own man.

I've never met another like Alan, and I doubt I ever will. My thoughts are with Martin his son and the family.

Alan died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday night, and for that I am glad. And even though the atheist in me (and Alan) sneers at this, I hope you and Bet are re-united in a better place. Rest in Peace, Mate. I already miss you. Pop over for a beer tonight eh?

  Shortest telemarketing call ever?
Them: Hello I'm calling from Kitchens Direct
Me: That's nice...
Them: *Click*

Now where is the fun in that.

  A brief note on Navigor
Poor Albert, pilloried by the left and slagged off by the fascists...

The one thing with which I would disagree is that they seem to be anti-racist, declaring that crime hits everyone regardless of race. I find it hard to believe, though, that they really cannot see which race/s are causing the most trouble.

Whay say you Mr Hurwood?

[Quaequam Blog!] TB or not TB?

So the badgers may well get it? Seemingly involving poisoned mash potato...
Well that is crap. Complete and utter non scientific slaughter of an innocent victim.
I've posted about this before.
Look it's really simple. You start killing badgers in the countryside, then they move on. Before long they will move into towns, but they already run by the foxes, so they won't be able to live outside.
Sofa badgers.
We've all experienced the mischievousness of sofa badgers. Lost keys, lost remotes, lost loves... Well maybe not the last one, but it is the badgers that hide these things. Drive the badgers from the countryside and within a year I guarantee no one will be able to leave the house because they can't lock the door, start their car, get into the office etc.
And with no remote you will be stuck watching whatever channel you last saw. And lets face it sometimes it's one of the porn channels.

So leave the frickin badgers alone. Please. And sign here, thank you.

The Truth Seeker - Schwarzenegger Institutionalizes Sexual Perversion
The Truth Seeker has sat in the backwater of my blogroll for quite sometime - but they do a great job and tin foil helmets are only sometimes required.

Gov.Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed into law four bills requiring all public school instruction and activities to positively portray trans-sexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality to children as young as kindergarten.

He has also signed bills undermining marriage and infringing upon the moral conscience of business owners, churches, and nonprofit organizations.

On Friday the 13th, Schwarzenegger signed SB 777 (transsexual, bisexual, homosexual indoctrination of schoolchildren by requiring changes to all instruction and activities) and AB 394, 102 and 14 (transsexual, bisexual, homosexual indoctrination of students, parents, and teachers via “anti-harassment” training).

So when Dave said think of Arnie...

Their crime? Linking to freely available clips on YouTube and the like

Oh and as an interesting aside, guess who was hosting the site? Click here to find out who and here to find out why this is of import.

  Misty has an important message
I could make a vacuous and probably sexist comment here but the point Misty is making is an important one, so the fact that she has posted a picture of her norks on teh interweb is an aside.

  Top 100 UK Blogs
Just found this over at davblog - and as I'm in the middle of tidying up my blogroll I suspect some new additions may come from this list. Ranking is based on Technorati and Alexa ratings so shameless link whores may find their results somewhat inflated.

Strange to see b3ta listed in there, though I suppose it could be loosely termed a collaborative blog, although "puerile digital arts community" probably hits the mark quite well.

10 things to do before the end of the year
1) Update my blog roll

Several sites have moved to 'proper' domains. I'd also like to split these down to various categories and add quite a lot of sites that I'd like to visit on an occasional basis. Splitting them down would also mean I can add the likes of Dale, Guido, Dizzy and Praguetory for those days when I really need a laugh.

2) Finish off web work for few of my clients I would like to see the back of.

No names here. Oh No.

3) Get some culinary advice from my Dad

He is getting old and still makes the best curries I've ever tasted (that one is down to Mr S. Duck's most recent post)

4) Get into a position where all of my clients are reachable remotely.

I spend too much time on-site when a simple overnight stealth fix would do.
I'm a poor man, my sight is sore, my legs are old and bented.

5) Get my own domain sorted

It's been registered since the summer, just need to start the web building, moving the posts etc job under way

6) Find a good woman, settle down and enjoy the Autumnal years of my life

That one is just to keep my Ma happy - tho with the "no kids and no weddings" caveat

7) Stop spending so much time on the Interweb

Actually that's just silly...

8) Buy some new clothes that fit my expanding waistline

See point 6) - (edit) Actually people called Frank may not apply

9) Start working smart

Whatever that means

10) I'm open to suggestions.

In the words of the duck (scary) suggest me do...
