  International Car Free Day
22nd September is International Car Free Day.

I don't own a car and haven't done since about 1998, fortunately the transport system in and around Worcester is more than adequate to get me around, so it goes with out saying I'll be taking part.

Edit : Find out your biological footprint - mine is 2.9. I picked the link up from an American blog (run by another bl*gm*nkey) who claims a footprint of 12 is 'not bad'. Dooomed, we're all doomed, I tell you.

  City mayor blasts relief response
New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has blasted the federal authorities for failing to respond fast enough to the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina.

Mayor Nagin is quite rightly a very angry man, listen to the audio (link at top of page or download an MP3 here) for some very plain speaking.

On the flip side, Senator Mary Landrieu has signed her political death warrant with a pathetic response archived and commented on over at Crook and Liars (a new find which has an impressive number of video feeds).
